Jack's Election Adventure
Guidance President Jack Massa has been elected Vice President of Technology of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of ASTD (The American Society for Training and Development). In this role, he will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Chapter's web site as well as leading inititives to expand the use of online tools for marketing, collaboration and social media.
Jack is honored and excited!
Best Practices for Live Online Training
Guidance President Jack Massa will speak at the 2009 Society for Technical Communication Summit, May 6 in Atlanta. Jack will lead a discussion as part of the STC Instructional Design and Learning SIG Progressions. His topic is "Best Practices for Live Online Training."
In this session, Jack will explore the pros and cons of live online training (or "synchronous e-learning") compared to other delivery methods. He will then provide a series of best practices to make your online sessions engaging, memorable, and effective.

Guidance presents: The Usability Audit, a Do-It-Yourself Approach to Improving Usability
When and Where: March 10, 2007 at the STC Atlanta Currents Conference, Mercer University, Atlanta.
In this session, Guidance President Jack Massa describes an inspection methodology for improving the usability of applications and web sites.
The Usability Audit is a low-cost, low-resource technique that can be used by various team memberstechnical communicators, product managers, QA analysts or developersand can be adapted to any phase of the development cycle. The session includes a case study in which a Usability Audit was designed and conducted for a suite of web applications.
